T.O.R.C.H. San Antonio Code of Conduct

T.O.R.C.H. San Antonio is a blessing that provides many benefits and opportunities. Whenever we gather, we represent our Catholic homeschooling group and model our values for our children. Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

1. Timely RSVPs and Punctuality

RSVP promptly for events and be on time. If plans change, inform the coordinator. This helps with planning and ensures smooth events.

2. Charity and Humility

Practice kindness and respect at all times, remembering to "Love thy neighbor as thyself." (Matthew 18:15-17). Prayerfully, consider your own part in any conflict and then politely speak with anyone who has offended you or caused you concern. If you are unable to resolve a situation between the two of you, then bring the issue to the TORCH board.

3. Appropriate Dress

Our clothing should reflect that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, especially when gathering as a group.

4. Respect for Venues

Treat all facilities with respect. Ensure children walk and speak quietly indoors and stay in designated areas outdoors. Be good stewards of the property we use.

5. Supervision of Children

Parents must watch over their own children. Avoid putting others in the position of correcting someone else’s child.

6. Clean Up

Help with cleanup after events. Set a good example by cleaning up after yourself, especially in public places.

7. Supervised Activities

All activities are family-oriented and require adult supervision. Drop-offs are generally not allowed, with the exception of a few clubs or activities. Invitations will specify if drop-offs are allowed, and these events will adhere to the chaperone policy. If you need to leave briefly, get approval from the event coordinator.

8. Chaperone Policy

For drop-off events, ensure at least two adults are present at all times, with a ratio of one adult per ten children.

9. Safe Sharing

Encourage children to bring wholesome items to share. Use parental controls on electronic devices to protect children from online dangers.

10. Event Participation

Non-members cannot attend events funded by TORCH. Prospective members can join specific open events like park days and the First Friday gatherings. Any other TORCH events that are open to non-members will be advertised as such.

11. Commitment to Volunteer Responsibilities

As a volunteer with T.O.R.C.H. San Antonio, you commit to fulfilling your chosen responsibilities diligently. If you have any questions, cannot make it to an event, or need someone to cover for you, please contact the volunteer coordinator promptly. Your proactive communication ensures smooth operation and supports our community's efforts effectively.
